Lesson 4. Bump maps.

In this tutorial you'll see how to get effect, called bump
for example:

A note:
The terms 'bump map' and 'normal map' are often used imprecisely. Me too ;-)

Both make it possible to render three dimensional detail that exist only on the texture. The technique is different.
A 'normal map' is a color image. The colors represent the Y, Y, and Z-direction of the details.
A 'bump map' is a grayscale image. Usually blue or green. The brightness is an elevation map. Bright colors mean deep places. Dark colors high places.
Unfortunately, Blender generated normal maps. XNALara used Bumpmaps. :-(
