This day is Lara's 47th birthday, and in honor of Lara's birthday, we're happy to release the 177th XNALara/XPS version with all 8 new Lara outfits from "Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris"

What's new?


  1. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris models
    Code:

    have been added as non- generic item models, just like models from previous Tomb Raider games

  2. New Render Groups (RG) 40/41. They need Diffuse, Normal/Bump and Specular maps in this order. RG 40/41 needs the "Normal map coordinate system" RGB X+Y-Z-" (Modify-->Flags...)
  3. Default folders for poses, scenes and images ... developed by bondlaw from DeviantArt ... The old behavior can be set with "Config-->Always default folders OFF"
  4. New shader "Shader-->Display Normals" for porters to test models
  5. Some small BUG-fixes

    • Load Scene BUG-Fix to load scene files with "Wardrobe Character and posed Outfits" ... reported by bondlaw
    • XNALara has never loaded or saved the "Scene Background Image" ... this is fixed now.

any chance the next version can allow imports of gif for pictures

take the tv here for example

The answer is ... sorry, the Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics.Texture2D.FromFile methode do not support gif for pictures.

wouldnt the answer be in the loaderdll file ? i tryed opening it in notepad but it has gibberish

Is it possible you can make Import(Ext)/Export(Ext) Scripts or XPS Auto Bump Map/Spec Map/Light Map the Model, instead of Blank Maps confused

Yes it is possible. You can make Import(Ext)/Export(Ext) scripts for XPS and put them in the XNALara_XPS\scripts folder.

Right, I am confused and I have no clues what you want.

Bump maps are textures which defines small details. Virtually all geometric surface detail should be represented in bump maps instead of drawn into the diffuse maps in the conventional style. This allows a single texture to take on different characteristics based on its interaction with lights. Ideally, this 'tangent-space normal maps' should be generated from high-poly geometry for the best consistency and surface detail.
If you want to create a "Bump map", then you needs two models . The 2nd model is a "highpoly" model with ALL this Details. If you not have this model, then you cannot generate a "Bump map". If you has made such a highpoly model, then you can use the tool "xNormal" to bake the bump maps Because this tool exist already, it is not necessary to develop it again. xNormal http://www.xnormal.net/Downloads.aspx is a very good tool to bake bump maps.  xNormal is an application to generate normal / ambient occlusion / displacement maps. It can also project the texture of the highpoly model into the lowpoly mesh ( complete texture transfer, even with different topologies ).

you can generate a bump map from a height map very fast:

  1. Open x normal, and click on Tools   button on the right. Will get a window like this:

  2. Open up the tool in the top left that says Height map to normal map. It will open a screen that looks like this:

  3. Next, drag your height map into the screen on the left.

  4. For a Generic_Item model, choose the Swizzle Coordinates  X+ Y- Z+
